One of the most ancient instruments in the world, the shamanic drum has the capacity to take us to a deeper state of consciousness and to help us to glimpse our authentic self, free of all the inhibiting beliefs that we may have taken upon ourselves.
The beat of the drum is a re-enactment of the vibration of the earth. Gently taking you from an active, mind-identified beta wave, slowly down to a deeply relaxed theta wave – you will find yourself open to the wisdom of your higher self. Deep insights can appear in this space. You may also find yourself in communication with the spirit world, your ancestors and your power animals.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A WORKSHOP?
Made from various animal hides, including goat, reindeer, horse, stag and buffalo, I make personalised drums in a meditative way, connecting with the Mayan calendar to tune into the energy of the day and the intention behind the drum, so that this instrument may be of great support to you in your life. I also tie a crystal of your choice into the handle of the drum.
I offer the option of making a personalised drum for you, or guiding you in person to make your own drum. All the materials you will need are provided.
We will spend the day together where I will guide you through the process of putting your drum together. You may also want to add a crystal to tie into the drum’s handle. This day can be very healing as you have the opportunity to put your intention into the making of your drum. What is it you want this drum to embody for your life? What do you want to remember about your soul’s calling each time you play this drum? There is also a therapeutic element to the day, as together we can explore the different feelings that arise for you in the process of making this instrument which will become an integral, ongoing healing tool.
